Terms of Service
1. Services
MO Assurance is an insurance company licensed by the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA). We underwrite, issue, and service insurance policies across motor, fire, engineering, marine, liability, professional indemnity, travel, and household lines, and we manage claims arising under those policies.
2. AI-assisted operations
We use AI to support intake, document classification, rating preparation, and customer correspondence. AI-generated output is for operational support only — it does not constitute binding insurance advice or commit MO Assurance to any cover. Every policy schedule, endorsement, and material customer-facing decision is reviewed by an authorised MO Assurance underwriter before it takes effect.
3. Accuracy of information
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information at the time of quotation, issuance, endorsement, and renewal. Misrepresentation or non-disclosure of material facts may void cover. We rely on the information you provide; we are not liable for errors arising from inaccurate intake data.
4. Intellectual property
The MO Assurance platform, including its AI models, rating engines, schedule templates, and user interface, is the property of MO Assurance Limited. You may not reproduce or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
5. AI-generated output and human review
The AI in the MO Assurance platform produces risk summaries, email drafts, and rating suggestions to accelerate the work of our underwriters and agents — it does not replace licensed underwriter judgement. You should treat AI-generated output as a first draft. If you believe an assessment, quote comparison, or communication contains an error, contact your agent or support@mo.tz.
6. Premium and cover commencement
Cover commences only on issuance of the policy schedule and receipt of the first premium. Premium may be paid via M-Pesa Tanzania, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, Halopesa, bank transfer, or such other channels as are made available by MO Assurance from time to time. Late payment may result in cancellation in line with the Insurance Act, Cap. 394.
7. Limitation of liability
Our liability under any policy is limited to the cover, sums insured, terms, and exclusions set out in the policy schedule and policy wording. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on AI-generated output that an MO Assurance underwriter did not specifically confirm in writing.
8. Governing law
These terms and any policy of insurance issued by MO Assurance Limited are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution process set out in the policy wording, ultimately before the courts of the United Republic of Tanzania.
