1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly — business name, industry, contact details, identification (NIDA / passport / business registration), and risk-relevant information submitted through our intake forms or via our agents. We also collect technical information such as IP addresses and usage data for security and rate-limiting purposes.

2. How we use your information

We use this information to underwrite, price, issue and service insurance policies; to manage claims; to comply with our regulatory obligations to TIRA, the Bank of Tanzania, the Tanzania Revenue Authority, and the Personal Data Protection Commission; and to communicate with you about quotes, policies, renewals, and claims.

3. Information sharing

We share your information with reinsurers as part of our cession arrangements, with payment service providers (M-Pesa Tanzania, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, banks) when collecting premium or paying claims, with our AI processing partner (Anthropic, the maker of Claude) solely to assist with intake, document classification, and quote generation, and with regulators where we are required to do so by law. Anthropic processes inputs under its commercial terms — it does not train models on your data, and retains inputs only for the period required to detect abuse. We do not sell your data to third parties and we never share it for advertising.

4. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures aligned with ISO 27001 to protect your information — encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication for staff access, row-level security on databases, append-only audit logs, and tested backup and disaster recovery procedures.

5. Your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act 2022 (Tanzania)

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2022, you have the right to access, correct, restrict processing of, or request deletion of your personal data, and the right to object to specified processing.
